Unraveling Harga Kurma Medjool in Malaysia

Harga Kurma Medjool

A Medjool price only means something next to other prices. This guide sets the Medjool listings on one Malaysian date wholesaler's price list, checked in October 2026, against the other varieties on that same list: Ajwa, Safawi, Mariami and Deglet Noor. If you are looking into Harga Kurma Medjool in Malaysia, that comparison answers a practical question. How much more does choosing Medjool cost you, compared with the date you might buy instead?

The Medjool listings on the list

Medjool originated in Morocco. It is a large, very soft date with a rich caramel taste, and every Medjool listing on the October list is labelled Palestine. The list has nine of them, and five were in stock when it was checked:

  • Premium Jumbo, 5kg pack: RM280, or RM56 a kilo
  • Jumbo, twelve 500g packets (6kg): RM355, or RM59.17 a kilo
  • Jumbo, eight 900g packets (7.2kg): RM448, or RM62.22 a kilo
  • Super Jumbo, 5kg pack: RM315, or RM63 a kilo
  • Jumbo, 900g box: RM70, or RM77.78 a kilo

The other four were out of stock: the three Large listings (a 5kg pack at RM250, eight 1kg packets at RM394 and twenty-four 250g packets at RM355) and a second Jumbo listing of twelve 500g packets at RM290. Grade names such as Jumbo and Super Jumbo are the importer's own size sorting rather than an international standard, so they help within one list but not across sellers.

The headline gap: per kilo, against every other in-stock date

The list had 58 date listings in all, 23 of them in stock. Take away the five Medjool listings and 18 in-stock listings are left. The dearest of those 18 per kilo was a 1kg pack of Safawi AAA Jumbo at RM45. The cheapest in-stock Medjool was RM56 a kilo.

So on this list in October 2026, even the lowest-priced Medjool you could actually order cost RM11 a kilo more than the highest-priced in-stock listing of any other date. The full in-stock Medjool range ran from RM56 to RM77.78 a kilo, and no other variety's in-stock range reached RM56.

Variety Listings In stock In-stock RM per kg, lowest to highest
Medjool 9 5 56.00 to 77.78
Ajwa 13 5 23.00 to 44.00
Safawi 9 7 16.00 to 45.00
Mariami 9 4 15.00 to 40.00
Deglet Noor 10 1 18.33

Prices are one Malaysian date wholesaler's, checked in October 2026. Eight more date listings on the list (Mashrook, Mabroom, Lulu, Kurma Muda, Rotab Sukkary and three other rotab listings) are left out of the table; only the Rotab Sukkary 3kg pack, at RM63 or RM21 a kilo, was in stock.

5kg pack against 5kg pack

Here is the 5kg line on its own. Two Medjool 5kg packs were in stock, Premium Jumbo at RM280 and Super Jumbo at RM315. The in-stock 5kg packs of the other varieties were:

  • Safawi: five packs, from RM80 (Premium A No.2) to RM195 (Premium Jumbo)
  • Ajwa: two packs, RM115 (Premium A No.1) and RM175 (Premium VIP AAA)
  • Mariami: three packs, from RM75 (A Normal) to RM148 (AAA VIP)
  • Deglet Noor: none of its 5kg listings was in stock

The dearest non-Medjool 5kg pack in stock, Safawi Premium Jumbo at RM195, was RM85 below the cheaper Medjool 5kg pack. The cheapest 5kg date pack in stock, Mariami A Normal at RM75, was RM205 below it. For the price of one Premium Jumbo Medjool pack, RM280, you could have had the RM75 Mariami pack and the RM195 Safawi pack together, 10kg for RM270.

Buying a small amount

The only in-stock Medjool listing under 5kg was the 900g box at RM70. The other varieties had in-stock 1kg packs:

  • Ajwa: A at RM31, AA at RM36, AAA VIP (Large) at RM44
  • Safawi: A at RM35, AAA Jumbo at RM45
  • Mariami: AAA at RM40

RM70 bought 900g of Medjool. It also bought two 1kg packs of Safawi A, or two 1kg packs of Ajwa A with RM8 to spare. Two further 1kg packs on the list, Safawi AA at RM40 and Ajwa VVIP Jumbo at RM55, were out of stock.

Reading the gap for your own order

None of this says Medjool is poor value or good value. The list gives prices, not reasons, and taste is your call. What it does give you is a size for the premium. On this list, choosing Medjool over the next-dearest in-stock date meant paying at least RM11 a kilo more, and choosing it over the cheapest in-stock 5kg pack meant paying RM205 more for the same 5kg.

If the Medjool flavour is the point, the in-stock Premium Jumbo 5kg pack was the lowest per kilo of the five, and the 900g box was the smallest buy. If the budget is the point, the table shows how far the other varieties sit below it. Either way, recheck stock and prices close to the day you buy. Demand for dates in Malaysia peaks before and during Ramadan, with further peaks around Hari Raya, weddings and kenduri, and a list checked in October 2026 is a guide rather than a quote.
